Wait for Me, Jazmine
Read the lyrics
Bouncing into my arms, and nothing stayed the same.
One eye blue as heaven, one eye warm and brown,
My little Husky-Shepherd turned my whole world around.
Princess when you wanted, Peanut when you'd play,
PITA when your stubborn side refused to go my way.
Inmuhway, my little goof, with so much left to say,
You sang the song of your people and chased the dark away.
Run free, Jazmine, where the sky is always blue,
Shelby's there beside you, running wild with you.
Chase the rabbits, chase the squirrels, beneath the endless sun,
Then keep a watch above us when the day is done.
Though I had to let you go, our story doesn't end—
Wait for me, my Jazmine;
I will find you again.
It didn't matter if I'd left for hours or just walked through the door,
You greeted me like I'd been gone a hundred years or more.
Camping under open skies, the dog park at full speed,
Every happy moment was a gift you gave to me.
You slept in strange positions that could always make me smile,
Then stayed beside me faithfully through every difficult mile.
When life became too heavy and I struggled to get through,
I found another reason every time I looked at you.
Run free, Jazmine, where the sky is always blue,
Shelby's there beside you, running wild with you.
Chase the rabbits, chase the squirrels, beneath the endless sun,
Then keep a watch above us when the day is done.
Though I had to let you go, our story doesn't end—
Wait for me, my Jazmine;
I will find you again.
If love could build a pathway from my heart to where you are,
I'd follow every pawprint underneath the brightest star.
I'd whisper, "You were everything—my courage and my friend.
This goodbye is not forever;
love will lead me home again."
Run free, Jazmine, where the sky is always blue,
Shelby's there beside you, running wild with you.
Sing the song of your people so I'll know just where you've been,
With one eye watching heaven and one watching over us again.
You carried me through storms that I once thought would never end—
Wait for me, my Jazmine;
I will find you again.
My Princess and my Peanut,
My little goof, my friend,
Keep watching from above me
Until I find you again.

Their Story
In Loving Memory of Jazmine
August 1, 2013 – July 15, 2026
Our Beautiful Girl
Jazmine was never simply our dog. She was family—the closest thing we had to a child, a constant companion, a source of comfort, an unofficial therapist, and the centre of our household.
We often joked that Jazmine owned everything and that we merely worked for her. In many ways, that was probably true. Our schedules, routines, furniture, vehicles, vacations, and hearts all belonged to her.
Her life with us began when she was only about ten weeks old. We were standing in a garage, talking with the people where she had been born, when this little puppy came bouncing around the corner. I was crouched down, and she ran directly into my arms.
That was it.
In that instant, I knew she was coming home with us. Looking back, it feels less like we chose Jazmine and more like she chose us.
A Personality All Her Own
Jazmine was a Husky–Shepherd mix with a beautiful dark coat, expressive ears, and two unforgettable eyes—one brown and one blue. She was striking to look at, but it was her personality that made her truly unforgettable.
She was happy, inquisitive, social, loving, stubborn, funny, and endlessly expressive. Like only a husky can, Jazmine would argue with us. She always had an opinion, and she was rarely shy about sharing it. A conversation with Jazmine was never one-sided.
She also slept in some of the strangest positions imaginable. Somehow, no matter how uncomfortable or impractical a position looked, she could make herself perfectly at home.
Jazmine was always interested in what was happening around her. She loved looking out windows and monitoring the world. At home, she kept watch over the neighbourhood. In the vehicle, even from the back seat, she needed to see through the windshield and know where we were going.
The exception was when the windows came down. Then she would put her head outside and let the wind rush through her fur, enjoying every moment.
She did not want to miss anything.
Rules, Playtime, Cuddles and Treats
Within our home, Jazmine knew exactly what each of us was responsible for.
Dad was discipline and play. He was the one who enforced the rules, but also the one she could wrestle with, play with, and share adventures with.
Mom was cuddles and belly rubs. She was the source of softness, affection, and quiet comfort.
Both Mom and Dad, of course, were responsible for treats.
Jazmine understood this arrangement very well and took full advantage of it.
She had a different relationship with each of us, but she was deeply loved by us both. She filled our home with movement, noise, humour, warmth, and companionship. Her presence could be felt in every room.
An Outdoor Girl
Jazmine loved being outside. She was happiest when she was exploring, travelling, visiting, or simply taking in the world around her.
She loved camping, the dog park, walks, car rides, playing in the snow, and visiting people. She enjoyed being part of whatever we were doing and was always ready for the next outing.
She was incredibly social. She loved people, children, and almost every animal she met. She approached life with curiosity and enthusiasm, and she had a way of making herself part of every gathering.
Whether she was watching the road, feeling the wind through an open window, walking through the snow, visiting a campsite, or greeting someone new, Jazmine was happiest when she was involved.
She did not merely live alongside us. She shared our life.
More Than a Companion
Jazmine was there for the happy moments, the difficult days, and all the ordinary days in between.
She offered comfort without needing to be asked. She listened without judgment. She could lift a heavy mood simply by entering the room, starting an argument, asking for attention, or performing one of her dances.
She gave us companionship when we needed it most. She gave us a reason to laugh, a reason to get outside, and sometimes simply a reason to keep moving forward.
Dogs ask for so little, yet somehow give us almost everything.
Jazmine gave us loyalty, laughter, affection, comfort, purpose, and unconditional love. She taught us that family is not defined by species and that a home can revolve around four paws, two mismatched eyes, and a very strong personality.
Until We Meet Again
Jazmine passed away on July 15, 2026, just short of her thirteenth birthday.
Although her life was long and full of love, no amount of time could ever have felt like enough. The house is quieter without her. The windows no longer have their faithful supervisor, car rides feel different, and sweet potato treats will always bring back memories of her little dance.
Before Jazmine came into our lives, there was Shelby, our German Shepherd. Shelby passed away before Jazmine was born, so the two of them never knew each other in this life.
We hope that somewhere beyond this world, they have finally met.
Perhaps they are running together, chasing rabbits and squirrels, playing in the snow, and watching over us while they wait for the day when our family will be together again.
Jazmine, thank you for choosing us.
Thank you for running into my arms all those years ago. Thank you for every argument, every strange sleeping position, every car ride, every cuddle, every belly rub, every walk, every adventure, and every sweet potato dance.
You were our girl, our family, and the heart of our home.
You were loved for your entire life, and you will be loved for the rest of ours.
We will find you again someday.
