Why this project was created

When memory becomes part of daily life

When Jazmine died, I was reminded how deeply a pet can become part of a family’s everyday life. The quiet routines, familiar expressions, favourite places, and small habits do not feel small when they are suddenly gone.

I created AngelFur to give other families a gentle place to preserve those details. A memorial can hold the story of who a pet was, the joy they brought, and the memories that deserve to remain easy to find and share.

Created personally, not anonymously

AngelFur is a small, independently operated Canadian service that I personally manage from Ingersoll, Ontario. Memorial pages are simple, respectful, and always free. Optional memorial songs are created through a human-reviewed, AI-assisted process.

AngelFur is not about turning grief into a transaction. Donations are welcome, but never required. They simply help cover operating costs so the service can remain free and available to everyone.

What matters here

Every pet’s story should be handled with care, accuracy, and compassion. AngelFur is being built around honest explanations, privacy-conscious practices, and personal accountability.

Jazmine inspired the beginning of AngelFur. My hope is that the service helps other families hold onto the memories that made their own companion irreplaceable.

Common questions

Frequently asked questions

Is creating an AngelFur memorial free?

Yes. Creating and maintaining a memorial page is free, and Song Creation for the memorial is included without a fee. Optional donations help with operating costs but are never required.

Does my memorial have to appear in public search?

No. You can make a memorial discoverable in AngelFur search or unlisted. An unlisted memorial is not private, but it is available only to people who have its direct link.

Can family and friends add memories?

Yes, when tributes are enabled. Submitted memories stay private until the memorial owner reviews and approves them.

Can I change or remove a memorial later?

Yes. Owners can edit published memorials, review changes before publishing them, and recover a deleted memorial during the 30-day recovery period unless it has already been permanently purged.

How is AI used by AngelFur?

Optional Song Creation features may use AI-assisted processing as part of a human-reviewed workflow. Memorial owners choose whether to use those optional features.
